WESTPORT–Book lovers, here’s your chance to browse thousands of used books for sale, as well as audiobooks, CDs, vinyl records, art and more.
The Westport Library will hold its Big Fall Book Sale from Dec. 5 through Dec. 8. Located on the library’s main level at 20 Jesup Road, the sale will offer books in more than 50 categories, including vintage children’s books, antiquarian titles and an extensive German-language collection.
The sale hours, with free admission, are as follows:
- Friday, Dec. 5: Noon — 6 p.m. (Please note noon start time)
- Saturday, Dec. 6: 9 a.m. — 5 p.m.
- Sunday, Dec. 7: 11 a.m. — 5 p.m. (Almost everything half-price)
- Monday, Dec. 8: 9 a.m. — 4 p.m. (Shoppers can fill our logo bag for $10 per bag, or their own equivalent-sized bag for $8, or buy individual books at half-price)
On Friday morning, Dec. 5, from 8:45 a.m. to Noon, the Book Sale will be open only to patrons who purchase an early access ticket in advance.

Of special interest for this sale:
- The German-language collection features fiction and nonfiction across a wide range of topics.
- A selection of musical scores along with books and materials related to Gilbert & Sullivan operettas.
- Holiday-themed children’s books.
- A large assortment of jigsaw puzzles in many themes and difficulty levels.
- Framed artworks in a variety of sizes, from small, desk-friendly pieces to large-format works.
- A dedicated $1 Fiction Room filled with thousands of titles — hardcover fiction, mystery, sci-fi/fantasy, young adult books and paperbacks — all priced at $1 each. (These books stay $1 on half price Sunday.)
