WESTPORT–A Stamford man has been charged with stealing about $10,000 worth of jewelry from a Westport home where he was hired to do work.

Fran Zuluaga-Restrepo, 41, was charged with second-degree larceny after he presented himself to police headquarters on Aug. 7, in response to a warrant for his arrest. He is accused of stealing several pieces of jewelry that a homeowner reported missing on May 29.

Zuluaga-Restrepo confessed to taking the items after pawn transactions reviewed by investigators led them to him, police said. After his arrest, he posted $25,000 bond. He is due in Stamford Superior Court on Aug. 18.
