WESTPORT — A 32-year-old man faces charges in connection with what police described as a domestic violence incident earlier this month.

Ranjit Gill, of Westport, was charged Aug. 22 with risk of injury to a child and disorderly conduct.

Officers were dispatched Aug. 20 to investigate a complaint about a domestic violence incident at a local residence, according to the report.

At the scene, officers determined that Gill and a relative  were engaged in an argument that turned physical when Gill allegedly started shoving the relative who was holding a child, police said.

Gill had left the residence before officers arrived, so a warrant for his arrest was issued.

He turned himself in Aug. 22 at Police Department headquarters, where he was formally charged. He was held on $100,000 bond and arraigned the next day at state Superior Court in Stamford.
