WESTPORT — A one-night exhibition at MoCA Westport, showcasing artwork by participants in both the museum’s healing arts classes and its summer camp, will take place Aug. 27.

The “Kaleidoscope” exhibition is planned from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27, at the museum, 19 Newtown Turnpike. Advance registration is requested, but walk-ins can also attend. Sign up by clicking here; suggested donation is $10, according to museum officials.

Refreshments will be available for purchase from food trucks.

Work by participants in “MoCA Gives Back” classes reflects “the inspiration, joy and deeper connection to the world that they experienced through the healing power of art,” according to publicity for the exhibit.

The healing arts program offers “equitable access and meaningful experiences, including employment and access to the arts, to those who are under-resourced in our community,” the museum’s release said.

On display at the same time will be work produced by “Camp MoCA Westport” participants during weekly summer session, which include “arts experiences aligned with the museum’s exhibitions, as well as outdoor activities, gardening, music and more,” the event publicity states.

“To view these young artists’ works, alongside the works created by our MoCA Gives Back participants, reveals the universal transformative and healing power of creating art,” Anne Greenberg, the MoCA director of education, said in the release.
