WESTPORT — Lisa Wexler, the Westport-Weston probate judge, is the recipient of the 2023 “Liberty Bell Award” from the Greater Bridgeport Bar Association.
Wexler, who also hosts a program on Bridgeport radio station WICC, was presented with the award at the association’s Law Day Luncheon on May 1.
She was elected to her third term as the local probate judge last year.
The Liberty Bell Award, which recognizes community service, is “presented to someone who has promoted better understanding of the rule of law, encouraged greater respect for law and the courts, stimulated a sense of civic responsibility or contributed to good government in the community,” according to a bar association press statement.
Wexler “embodies the 2023 Law Day theme of ‘Cornerstones of Democracy: Civics, Civility and Collaboration’,” Kyle LaBuff, a state’s attorney and the GBBA Law Day Committee chairman, said in the statement.
