WESTPORT — A Weston man was charged with driving under the influence after a crash in a Main Street parking lot last Friday.
Christian Miner, 69, in addition to the charge of operating under the influence of drugs or alcohol, was also charged with illegally operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, according to the police report.
Police were dispatched about 5:40 p.m. Friday to investigate a two-car accident in the parking lot at 333 Main St.
At the scene, a Jaguar, with “heavy damage” on its left side, had side-swiped a parked vehicle, a witness reportedly told officers.
“A strong odor of an alcoholic beverage” was coming from the Jaguar’s driver, identified as Christian Miner, according to the police report.
A field sobriety test was administered to Miner, police said, which he reportedly failed. He then was placed under arrest.
Miner posted $500 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned this Friday at Superior Court in Stamford.
