FAIRFIELD — Sacred Heart University’s Community Theater brought the holiday season to life Wednesday with a showing of “It’s a Wonderful Life.”

The venue’s “Century of Cinema” will showcase the best films over the last hundred years and, following the films, include a sit-down discussion with Susan Granger of Westport, who will share stories and answers questions about her lifelong passion for movies, and what they mean to people.
Screenings will take place the third Wednesday of the month.
Matt Oestreicher, executive director of the SHU Community Theater, said the goal is to bring in comedy, film, everything “to help revitalize the arts and cultural community in the area.”

Granger has been involved with film since she was a child.
“When you have something you love and you can share that passion with people, it is the greatest privilege in the world,” she said.
Her husband noted that Susan working with SHU was like a “a kid in a candy shop.”

The next film will be “Meet Me in St. Louis” on Dec. 28. Tickets are free for those over 65 and are $15 to the general public.
