WILTON —Staples High’s girls soccer team, facing the only team it lost to during its impressive regular season, was defeated again by St. Joseph 3-1 Thursday in the FCIAC championship game in Wilton.
St. Joseph was the tourney’s top seed and Staples was No. 3.
Alexa Pino scored all three goals for the Cadets and goalkeeper Emily Robinson made nine saves.

Staples got a goal from Evelyn Chudowsky, assisted by Natalie Chudowsky.
Staples goalkeeper Cami Kolek made five saves.
The Wreckers are the No. 3 seed and have a bye in the first round of the Class LL State Tournament. Staples will host the winner of the game between No. 14 Greenwich and No. 19 Shelton in the second round Nov. 10.
