The Wreckers blanked visiting Wilton 2-0 on April 26, then edged host Darien 2-1 on April 28.

In the win over Wilton, Hiro was the hero. Hiro Wyatt allowed only one hit and struck out 16 batters. In his dominating performance, only five outs were recorded in the field. Wyatt and battery mate / catcher Holden Caney worked together to produce the team’s fifth shutout of the spring.

Hiro’s masterful performance came just five days after his teammate, Chase Siegel, threw a perfect game against Danbury.

Staples is next back on the diamond Monday, May 1, visiting Fairfield Warde at 4 p.m. The Wreckers return home to face Trumbull Wednesday, May 3 at 4:30.
