STAMFORD — Staples High football team shut out host Stamford High 27-0 Saturday afternoon.

Quarterback Nick Weil completed 15 of 24 pass attempts for 232 yards and a touchdown. 

Weil connected with Connor Kelly for a 21-yard scoring play. Weil also rushed five times for 36 yards and a score.

Patricio Garcia ran for a six-yard touchdown. 

Anthony Armentano had 10 carries for 59 yards. Shane Sandrew helped move the offense with nine receptions for 165 yards.

Aidan Stubbs booted a pair of field goals.
