WESTPORT — In three games to begin the season, the Staples High School girls soccer team has yet to surrender a goal.

The Wreckers followed up a scoreless tie against visiting Ridgefield on Sept. 9 with a 4-0 win at New Canaan on Sept. 12 and a 3-0 blanking of visiting Greenwich on Sept. 14.

In the win over New Canaan, Annabel Edwards led the way with two goals. Sammi Dewitt and Julia Tracy also hit the net for the Wreckers.

Against Greenwich, Evelyn Chudowsky, Reilly McGeehan and Neva Mermegan all scored. Katherine Shackleford, Mermegan and Evelyn Chudowsky had assists.

Staples hosts 2-1 Danbury at 10 a.m. Saturday.

One of Danbury’s two wins was against a common opponent, when the Hatters defeated New Canaan 3-1. After a 1-0 loss to Trumbull, Danbury beat Stamford 2-0.
