WESTPORT–Another day. Another early goal. Another onslaught. Another beatdown.

Monday’s victim was Fairfield Ludlowe . They’ve got a new coach, Sebastian Rojas, and a new culture.

But with only two wins entering the game at Wakeman Field, they were no match for the high-energy, high-flying Wreckers.

Alex Saleeb started the scoring spree in the 8th minute, off a great cross from Greyson Downes.

Then Saleeb fed Adrian Rodriguez, who tucked it in.

Lucas Alarcon found an overlapping Peter Nelson. He roars out of the back frequently, but this was his first goal of the year.

Downes assisted Rodriguez, for a straight-on strike.

Alarcon’s free kick led to a second Rodriguez tally — and his second consecutive hat trick.

Sebi Carter’s long free kick was headed home by Ryan Allen. Like Nelson, he’s a defender; like Nelson, this was his first goal of the season.

The seventh was an own goal, off a cross from Gus Reyna. Jaden Waldman closed out the scoring, with a solo effort.

Impressively, those eight goals all came in the first 40 minutes. Head coach Liam Witham instructed his reserves to take the pedal off in the second half. They knocked the ball around with skill, smarts and ease. They had total possession, but did not attempt another shot.

Luke Diedrich made one good punch save, on a 40-yard rocket — his best of the fall. Harrison Waller came on later, to combine for the clean sheet.

Up next: Bridgeport Central, at Wakeman on Wednesday for Senior Day (4 p.m.). The Wreckers then travel to Brien McMahon on Saturday, for an 11:30 a.m. clash.
