WESTPORT — With a strong finish to the regular season Wednesday, the Staples High boys basketball team defeated visiting Darien, 55-39. 

The victory gave the Wreckers an impressive 15-5 overall record for the season, 10-5 in FCIAC play.

Sam Clachko led a balanced scoring attack with a dozen points. Cody Sale dropped in 10, Charlie Honig had nine, Chris Zajac eight, Adam Udell seven and Ethan Cukier five.

Clachko made a trio of 3-pointers and Sale, Honig and Udell each connected once from downtown.

Up next is the FCIAC Tournament, with the seedings and opponents still to be announced.
