WESTPORT–Tyler Clark set a pair of receiving records and quarterback Caleb Smith accounted for six touchdowns — a trio on the ground and three more in the air — as the Staples High football team crushed the visiting Norwalk Bears 56-7 on Friday night.

The defense held Norwalk to only a touchdown and forced six turnovers, including two interceptions by senior cornerback Will Holleman.

Clark set the school record for receptions in a season as well as receiving yards in a campaign, accomplishing this with three games remaining on the slate.
