MIDDLETOWN–Staples’ Tighe Brunetti is seeded #1 in the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference Individual Tournament. In yesterday’s round of 16, Brunetti crushed Darien’s Ted Callery, 6-0, 6-0 in the quarterfinal round.

In doubles, Staples’ Luke Brodsky and Alex Guadarrama took their match against Greenwich’s Cai Jain and Nick O’Brien, 6-2, 6-2. 


In Staples’ other singles match, Robbie Daus was defeated by James Lorenzetti of Norte Dame West Haven, 6-4, 6-0.

In the singles semifinals, Brunetti will face Dylan Atkinson of Greenwich and Brodsky / Guadarrama will play Wilton’s Sam Gioffre and Alex Reyes at a date TBD. The matches will be held at Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT.
