WESTPORT – Say “Hello” to 31 Sylvan Road N.

The Historic District Commission approved the demolition of the circa-1799 house at 31 Sylvan Road N in May 2020 and the Building Department issued a demolition permit in September 2020. A new house has been built in its place. 

The old house was a two-story antique with 2,600-square-feet of living space, three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, one half bathroom, a basement and crawl space, a porch, a brick patio, a finished upper story and an unfinished attic.

The new house is an 8,900-square-foot, 2-story custom Colonial, with six bedrooms, eight full bathrooms and one half bath, an unfinished basement, a garage, an in-ground pool, a porch, a stone patio, a finished upper story, a finished half-story and a partially finished attic.

The property traded hands last October for $3,675,000. It had traded in 2019 for $860,000.

The assessed value of the property was $667,800 in 2018 and is $2,567,400 today.

Sylvan Road N is off of Post Road W.
