18 Vani Court — Old 18 Vani Court–New
WESTPORT – Say “Hello” to 18 Vani Court.
The original house at 18 Vani Court was demolished and a new house has been built in its place.
The old house, built in 1945, was a single-story cape with 1,500-square-feet of living space, four bedrooms, one full bathroom, one half-bathroom, an unfinished basement and a finished half-story.
On the property today stands a 1,700-square-foot, 2¼-story Colonial+, with three bedrooms, three full bathrooms and one half bath, a basement, a garage, a stone patio, a finished upper story, a finished three quarter story and a partially finished attic.
The property traded hands in June for $1,250,000. It had traded in 2020 for $275,000.
The assessed value of the property was $309,300 in 2018 and is $686,200 today.

Notice that there are no large beautiful trees left on the property.
We love mature trees, but sometimes it’s not the developer’s fault.
The property is so small, there wasn’t anything really left, after the damage from the January 20202 fire that destroyed the previous house. The water froze on pretty much everything on the property, and what was left was damaged during demolition. Several prolific developers in town passed on the property, because they didn’t want the trouble to trying to build their normal type homes on a lot this size. (This new house is pretty much the width of the entire thing. It took several months to sell, even when everything was flying, during the pandemic.)
