WESTPORT — The Historic District Commission has approved a request to demolish the two houses at 171 Compo Road South.

The 2-story main house, built in 1938, is a high ranch with 1,800-square-feet of living space, four bedrooms, four baths, a crawl space, a garage, a wooden deck and a finished upper story.

The 1940-vintage single-story cottage has 1,300-square-feet of living space with four bedrooms, two baths and a basement.

The property traded hands in April for $600,000.

The property’s 2020 assessment was $487,000.
