WESTPORT–The Building Department has issued a permit to demolish the home at 162 Compo Road South. The Historic District Commission had unanimously voted to waive the 180-day waiting period on the property in September.
The 1¾-story antique was built in 1820. It has 4,300-square-feet of living space, five bedrooms, five baths, a basement area, a crawl space, a garage, an open porch, a screen porch, a three-quarter-story, a finished upper story, a finished attic and a finished half-story.
The property traded hands in July for $1,045,000. The property’s current assessment is $398,300.
