WESTPORT — The Building Department has issued a permit to demolish the house at 1 Fresenius Road.

The single-story cape was built in 1900. It has 1,300-square-feet of living space, three bedrooms, two baths, a basement area, a screen porch, a wood deck and a finished attic expansion.

The property traded hands in May for $470,790. It had previously traded for $390,000 in 2012 and for $427,500 in 2001. The property’s current assessment is $320,900.

Fresenius Road is off of Long Lots Road, between Post Road East and Cedar St.

Tuesday, it appeared much of the structure already had been razed.

The property in recent years had been neglected, and was troublesome for neighbors and town enforcement agencies. Read more about that here.
