WESTPORT–John Bolton, a Republican member of the Planning and Zoning Commission, has announced that he is resigning from the commission, effective later today.
In a letter to Patrizia Zucaro, the Chair of the Republican Town Committee, Bolton wrote, “At this point, the demands of my campaign as the Republican nominee for State Attorney General require my full-time attention, and I believe this is the appropriate time to step aside and devote myself fully to that effort.”
Bolton has been an attorney for 35 years, mostly as an independent lawyer, but with stints as in-house counsel for companies in upstate New York and Alabama.
A Hartford native and Westport resident since 1997, Bolton has served on the Planning and Zoning Commission since 2021, first as an alternate, and as a full commissioner since 2023.
