I support Kevin Christie
I have lived 50 years in Westport and my wife and I can’t think of moving. I don’t believe Mr. O’Day is the right candidate to be First Selectman of our town as his beliefs can’t be true. Once you become a Republican–as he has–and as a candidate of his party, you represent what all elected members of his party from President down to Republican officials in our state. He never objected to them as I have frequently.
I support Kevin Christie because of his hard work and experience in financial matters privately and publicly and his participation on the Board of Education which consumes a large portion of our town finances. He has shown to me personally his sincere care for our town.

Christie/Wistreich: the best alternative for Westport
As wonderful as Westport is – and it is an exceptional place – town hall has suffered of late from a lack of leadership, a lack of concern for public opinion, a lack of transparency, and a troubling disregard for due process.
It is my hope that these deficiencies will be cured by the elections now in progress.
Having followed the candidates as carefully as I can, with as open a mind as I can muster, I have concluded that the Christie/Wistreich team stands the best chance of delivering the necessary reforms and providing the leadership required to keep Westport on course in the coming years.
I am persuaded by their evident integrity, experience, the competence they have amply demonstrated in their professional lives, their concern for the quality of life in Westport, their commitment to open government and the rule of law, and a sincere desire to serve the community.
I am also impressed by the fact that they have reached out to Hartford and formed what promise to be meaningful relationships at the state level which will benefit Westport in the long run.
I urge you to vote for the Christie/Wistreich team, not because they’re Democrats, but because they are the best of the available alternatives for Westport.

Westport needs Kevin and Amy
Westport is currently facing many significant challenges now and for the future that require strong and proactive leadership with the background and commitment to achieve the positive and long term results needed for our community. Among these issues include: the proposal for Hamlet at Saugatuck, the Cribari Bridge, traffic controls throughout Westport, downtown parking, protection of our waterways, children’s education and rampant banning of books like “Catcher in the Rye”, (which we all read in High School), affordable housing in a creative way that fits within the look and feel of our town and more.
We are fortunate to have leaders like Kevin Christie and Amy Wistreich, each of whom have served Westport in a number of capacities such as the Westport’s Board of Education and Planning and Zoning Commission, respectively. Kevin’s background includes financial planning and strategies at IBM, Merrill Lynch and Madison Square Garden. Equally talented, Amy’s background is varied in the architecture, engineering, and construction industries where she focused on, among other things, risk management and bond requirements.
It goes without saying these professional requirements stand out for the needs of our community. But the real story is how this leadership translates to Westport. Both candidates have devoted themselves unselfishly to our community. They care! They seek from our community what we all see as priorities. When I did door-knocking with Kevin, his first question was what do you see as our priorities for the town? Both Kevin and Amy are listeners as they want to build consensus for all concerned. They have a clear understanding of the issues of everything listed above and seek reasonable, practical and lasting results for all. This personal and technical background is what is needed.
Westport needs Kevin and Amy. I urge your support.
