WESTPORT–The Coalition for Westport announced yesterday its nomination of Craig Schiavone for the Planning & Zoning Commission in Westport’s upcoming municipal election on Nov. 4, 2025. Craig joins Michelle Paquette and Michael Chaney, the coalition’s first two nominees.

Schiavone is a retired executive and community leader with an extensive career in urban planning, historic preservation, and nonprofit management. A 20+-year Westport resident, she served as Co-Chair of the Saugatuck Transit-Oriented Development Master Plan Commission and as an appointee to both the Westport 2020 Task Force and the Westport 2022 Implementation Committee. She is the founder of Schiavone Management Consulting Group, advising nonprofits on strategy, finance, and governance. Craig holds a B.A. in History and Economics from Tulane University.

According to a press release published by the coalition, Schiavone will work towards “protecting what works, fixing what is broken, and ensuring the next generation grows up in a town that reflects our values and vision.”

The Coalition further stated that “its three candidates—Michael Chaney, Michele Pacquette, and Craig Schiavone—will bring fresh energy, new ideas, and thoughtful perspectives to guide Westport’s future.”
