WESTPORT — The newest officer on the town’s police force was inspired to begin a career in law enforcement by his brother, an officer in New York City.

Sean Doyle, previously an officer in Hartford, was sworn in Tuesday in Town Hall.

Doyle began his career in law enforcement in 2019 as a patrol officer in Hartford. He worked both the evening and overnight shifts, according to a press release from the Westport Police Department.

Doyle grew up in Manorville, N.Y., and after high school he attended Sacred Heart University in Fairfield and graduated with a degree in exercise science.

“I believe Sean will make an outstanding addition to the department and will be a great asset to our community,” Police Chief Foti Koskinas said in the release announcing Doyle’s hiring.
