WESTPORT–Police traveled to New Hampshire this week to bring back a 36-year-old man accused of violating six orders of protection when he threw an alleged victim to the floor in the Delamar Hotel, 1595 Post Road East, police said.
The incident occurred on June 14, when a guest complained of a disturbance in a neighboring room. The room’s occupant reported having an argument with Kenneth Haslam of Hampton, New Hampshire, that escalated when Haslam threw the person, Westport police said.
Police discovered the orders of protection while investigating the case, but Haslam had left the area.
On July 27, authorities in New Hampshire took Haslam into custody on Westport’s arrest warrant. On Tuesday, Westport detectives traveled to the Rockingham County Jail in Brentwood, New Hampshire, to bring Haslam back.
Westport police charged him with disorderly conduct and six counts of violation of a standing criminal protective order. Computer checks showed that Haslam was also the subject of seven court-ordered arrest warrants for failure to appear in court stemming from arrests by various other agencies, Westport police said. Based on those warrants, he was also charged with six counts of first-degree failure to appear and one count of second-degree failure to appear.
Court records show that Haslam faces charges of violating protective orders and other crimes in nine other incidents dating back to November 2025, with ongoing court appearances this month and next – including a Sept. 18 appearance in Superior Court in Stamford for the latest Westport charges. He is being held on $225,000 in bonds for various cases, according to Westport police.
