WESTPORT — A 21-year-old driver has been charged with fleeing the scene of a November accident after police tracked her down using video recorded by a dashboard camera.
Alexandra Hamer, of Westport, was charged Dec. 23 with evading responsibility, failure to drive in the proper lane and failure to comply with pass-on-the-right rules in connection with the incident.
Officers were dispatched about 8:15 p.m. Nov. 25 to the scene of a hit-and-run crash on Saugatuck Avenue near Interstate 95, police said.
The investigating officer obtained video footage of the accident from a dashboard-mounted camera, and was able identify Hamer as “the at-fault operator,” according to the report.
A warrant was issued for Hamer’s arrest, and she turned herself in Dec. 23 at Police Department headquarters, where she was formally charged.
She was released after posting $3,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned Jan. 12 at state Superior Court in Stamford.
