WESTPORT — Police are seeking the public’s help identifying a suspect accused of shoplifting large hauls of toys from a Post Road East store over the last two weeks.

The suspect is implicated in the theft of merchandise from Awesome Toys, 429 Post Road East, on Aug. 7 and 11, according to a statement issued by police Wednesday.

The same man is suspected as the perpetrator in both incidents, and according to police, is about six feet, two inches tall and weighs about 220 pounds as seen in the store’s video surveillance footage.

The first incident occurred about 4:45 p.m. Aug. 7 when the suspect took a Traxxas truck and art supplies, and then fled the store on foot along Post Road East, police said.

On Aug. 11, the same man entered the store and “filled up two large bags with items” and again left without paying, according to the report.
