WESTPORT–A Hamden, Connecticut, man faces charges that he stole car tire-and-rim sets worth $30,000 from Maserati of Westport, 1026 Post Road East more than a year ago, Westport police said.
Luis Suero-Soto, 32, was held by West Haven Police on Saturday on a warrant calling for his arrest in Westport. Westport police brought him back to the town to be formally charged.
An employee of the dealership reported the theft of 17 sets of tires and rims on Jan. 8, 2025, police said. The theft, including the thief and his vehicle, was captured on surveillance video cameras.
Westport detectives identified Suero-Soto as the suspect after an investigation. Suero-Soto would also later confess to the crime and acknowledge selling the stolen property to buyers in the Bronx, Westport police said.
He was charged with first-degree larceny, a felony. Suero-Soto was released on $50,000 bond and is due in Superior Court in Stamford on April 13, state court records show.
