WESTPORT–Two coffee makers taken from HomeGoods, 1850 Post Road East, were grounds for the arrest of a 46-year-old man on a larceny charge, Westport police said.
Thomas Donovan, whose last known address was in Milford, was arrested Saturday when Stratford police contacted the Westport force to say that he was in custody on a warrant.
Donovan allegedly stole the appliances, worth $350 each, from the store on March 24. A HomeGoods employee reported the theft to Westport police the next day, police said.
Police charged Donovan with fifth-degree larceny, a misdemeanor. He was released on $25,000 bond and is due in Superior Court in Stamford next Wednesday, court records show. On the same day, he is due in Superior Court in Bridgeport to face a charge of sixth-degree larceny, a misdemeanor, from a May 21 incident in Stratford, according to court records. He was released on $5,000 bond in that case.
