WESTPORT — A fire in a pool heater at a Ludlow Road home was quickly doused Saturday morning, according to fire officials.
Engines 2, 4 and 6, along with Truck 1 and Car 3, were sent to the scene in response to the 10:40 a.m. alarm.
Arriving on scene, Engine 2 firefighters found the pool heater and filtration system burning next to the house. They extinguished the fire while other fire crews checked to ensure the fire had not extended from the source and also secured utilities.
Officials said the quick response limited damage to the pool equipment and flames did not extend to the house.
The last fire unit left the scene at 11:55 a.m.
