

WESTPORT — A pickup truck driver escaped serious injuries when a large tree limb toppled onto the vehicle traveling on Easton Road early Wednesday.
The driver was able to get out of the pickup, but was taken to the hospital for treatment of what appeared to be minor injuries, officials said.
The incident, which occurred about 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, shut down Easton Road, between Bayberry Lane and Sturges Highway, until about 10:30 a.m. while emergency crews cleared the crash scene.
