WESTPORT–A Bronx man faces charges that he stole several massage chairs worth a total of $33,136.25 by making a fraudulent credit card purchase.

Alberto Gracquis-Nunez, 28, allegedly purchased the chairs from Mike’s Factory Direct on Nov. 7, 2025. He drove a U-Haul to pick up the chairs from the store at 15 Kings Highway North.

After he left with the merchandise, “the business was notified that a credit card company was now disputing an associated charge,” Westport police said in a statement. The company claimed that the charge had been made fraudulently, “leading staff to believe that the entire purchase had been made by fraud,” the statement said.

Gracquis-Nunez was identified as a suspect in the incident after Westport detectives determined that he had rented the truck. A warrant was issued for his arrest, and he reported voluntarily to Westport police on Monday.

He was charged with first-degree larceny, a felony and was released on $50,000 bond. He is due in Superior Court in Stamford on April 20.
