I am writing in support of Sam Nestor for Senator in Connecticut’s 26th District (D26). Unlike her opponent, Sam has more than campaign promises—she has a proven track record.

As First Selectwoman of Weston, Nestor proved herself to be a creative and effective problem solver; she

• got a STEAP grant for solar panels to offset rising energy costs for Weston public facilities
• accomplished the largest road paving and maintenance project in Weston’s history
• brought in $36M in grants and other funding for necessary improvements to police and fire facilities
• modernized emergency communication systems, and
• added numerous amenities benefiting Weston residents such as new sidewalks, a dog park, and public pickle-ball courts. 

In addition to these local accomplishments, Sam has shown that she will fight for the rights of all her constituents at a time when we have reason to fear the weakening of our democracy and democratic values. We can count on Sam to be an outspoken voice for the protection of civil rights, free speech, bodily autonomy, religious freedoms, freedom of the press and voting rights. 

Sam’s vast experience as member of the Weston Board of Education, Second Selectwoman, and three-term First Selectwoman makes her extremely well positioned to protect and promote the interests of Senate D26 residents, in stark contrast to her competitor.

I encourage all residents of Senate D26 to vote for Sam Nestor in the upcoming election. The in-person early voting period begins on Oct. 19 and runs through Nov. 1. Let’s take advantage of this opportunity to make our voices heard.
