Praise for Steinberg & Reminder to Vote
To The Editor:
I am writing to encourage all Westport residents to come out and vote in the upcoming municipal elections. Many people think it’s only important to vote in presidential elections. However, it’s so easy and critical to vote for local officials. (Use this link to see how easy it is and get all relevant information: https://lwvwestport.org/)
Our elected town leadership has a huge impact on our day-to-day lives, from how our tax dollars are spent to how much time we sit in traffic, to the education of our children.
I strongly support the candidacy of Jonathan Steinberg and Candi Savin for Westport Board of Selectmen. Westport will be in excellent hands under their seasoned and principled leadership.
Jonathan has represented our town well at the state level for many years. I know that he is a man with great courage of his convictions. He is not at all afraid to stand up for what he believes in. Jonathan is known in Hartford as a consensus builder, working across the aisle to get things done. He was the leader of the moderate caucus in Hartford and did excellent work there over his many years of service. I believe Jonathan will advocate for Westport to get what we need from the state and certainly has the relationships to help make that happen.
I have also been extremely impressed with Candi Savin’s poise and strength in her position as Board of Education Chair. Westport is truly fortunate to have such seasoned and strong leaders ready to guide our town into the future.
Remember, your opinion about our town’s climate, culture, and future matters— so please join me in voting for Jonathan Steinberg and Candi Savin for Westport Selectmen on November 2.

Vote for Tooker-Moore Encouraged
Letter to the Editor:
I have never voted along one political party line or for a candidate who makes boastful promises of change and things to come. Rather, I look at the individual, his or her record and what has been accomplished.
As a resident of Westport for over 43 years, I have seen many changes in our town as it has grown and I have often wondered whether we are heading in the right direction. One thing I know for sure is that Westport is a better place today because we have had professional and caring leadership these past 8 years and that is why, when I vote for Jen Tooker and Andrea Moore, I feel certain that we will continue on the right path.
Jen Tooker and Andrea Moore both have professional backgrounds that include years of management and leadership experience. They have been a part of the team that has seen Westport through many challenges and made it one of the best run towns in Connecticut. They have listened, and will continue to do so as they work together to keep our town moving forward.
Westport needs leaders that can be relied on … We need Jen Tooker and Andrea Moore for Selectmen!
Sincerely,
Jacque O’Brien

To The Editor:
Friends in District 1, please support Chris Tait in his re-election to the RTM.
Chris is a lifelong resident of Westport and was born and raised in District 1. He chairs the RTM Parks & Recreation Committee, pushing many of the improvements to Compo Beach and Longshore Golf Course over the past several years. I have had the pleasure of working with Chris on the RTM for the past 10 years and I have to say his demeanor, work ethic and common sense are a much needed commodity. You could not ask for a better person to represent you. I would encourage you all to cast your ballot for Chris on Tuesday.
Thank you.

RTM Member Supports Board of Ed Candidates
To The Editor:
I am writing to express my support for Dorie Hordon and Robert Harrington for Board of Education. I have worked with Robert Harrington since 2017 on several issues and Robert has proven to be extremely passionate about the schools with creative hard work and dedication.
While people may not agree with him all the time, Robert’s heart has always been in the right place and apologizes when he makes a mistake. What makes him far different from others, is that he even owns up to his mistakes while others just ignore or brush it off. Putting party affiliation aside, Robert has always not only put Westport first, but your kids and neighbors.
Dorie Hordon is a warrior and is extremely tuned in and passionate and is not afraid to speak up, ask questions, and put forth proactive action. Dorie’s voice during the Coleytown Middle School mold investigation and remediation was instrumental representing the parents among many other things.
I consider these two, who have actively reached out and contacted me to discuss town and education plans/issues, to be thoughtful and transparent. While I have not met Christine Torres or Kevin Christie, I look forward to working with them as we embark on a refreshed Board of Education with new ideas.
