To the editor:

As a high school student, I must appreciate the changes incumbent Sen. Ceci Maher has made in improving the quality of my public education and those of my peers.

As chair of the Senate Children’s Committee, she has upped state education funding by $230 million and made health services more accessible to students like me.

While she has increased funding for education, Sen. Maher has additionally worked to make living more affordable. She has made $600 million in tax cuts for the middle class and improved senior residence care and livelihood through increasing tax exemptions on pensions and investing in the quality of nursing home services.

In my home 26th District, Sen. Maher has spent millions improving Sherwood Island State Park, millions improving Stamford’s Avon Theater accessibility and millions improving the HVAC in Ridgefield and Stamford schools, investing in and facilitating the preservation of our environment and educational development.

Please re-elect Ceci Maher on Tuesday, Nov. 5, at your local polling station or by absentee ballot.
