Samuel J. DeMeo Jr., 94, a lifelong resident of Westport passed away Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2021, in Norwalk Hospital.

Samuel was born in Norwalk on April 11, 1926, and was the son of the late Samuel and Carrie (Chappa) DeMeo.  

He was a U.S. Army veteran and served during World War II. He was a member of the Joseph J. Clinton VFW Post 399. Samuel was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener. He loved spending time at Compo Beach in Westport. He also played the accordion in a band in his younger years.

Beloved father of three daughters, Suzy DeMeo, Karen Sternberg and Lynn Smith; five grandsons, a granddaughter, three great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by three sisters, Ellen Barker, Lynn DeMeo and Palma DeMeo.

All services for Mr. DeMeo were private. The arrangements were handled by the Harding Funeral Home in Westport.
