Following is the obituary for MARIE CARPENTER, submitted for her family by the Harding Funeral Home.

Marie Carpenter, 96, wife of the late Stanley Carpenter and longtime resident of Westport, passed away Sept. 5, 2024, at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport.
Marie was born in Scarsdale, N.Y., on July, 4, 1928, and was the daughter of Arthur and Mary Kurth.
Marie served in the Civil Air Patrol after WWII. She worked for many years as a real estate agent in Westport, first for Mila Grieb Village Realty and then Coldwell Banker Realty.
Marie was an avid scuba diver, tennis player and skier, and was a member of the Norwalk Ski Club.
Survivors include a son, Mark S. Carpenter and his wife Donna Marie of Lakeway, Texas, and a nephew, Walter Greenwood of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. In addition to her husband Stanley, Marie was predeceased by a sister, Helen Thornton.
Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept, 13, meeting directly at Willowbrook Cemetery, 395 Main St.
