Following is the obituary for CHARLES R. NAGEL, submitted by his family.

____________________________

Charles (Chuck) R. Nagel passed away on Oct. 11, 2023, at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. His long-time partner, Melody Ware, was by his side.

Born in Boston, Mass., on Aug. 25, 1950, he was the son of the late Charles and Evelyn Nagel.

Chuck grew up in Westport and attended St. Luke’s Prep School, Staples High School and graduated from the International School of Belgium, and attended the University of Vermont.

He was a well-known local carpenter/builder of 30 years. Many of his former clients and subcontractors became life-long friends.

Chuck’s love of motorcycling took him cross-country with his friend, Ray Card, and with his Westport buddy, Bob Tedeschi, he traveled Connecticut roads, never missing a stop for ice cream along the way.

He is survived by his sisters, Susan Cullen, of Falmouth, Mass., and Dyan Lee, of Canyon Lake, Texas.

Chuck’s extended family would like to express a special thank you to Michael Chuckta, hospice caregiver, for his support and kindness. We are forever grateful.

A celebration of life will be held in the spring.

Memorial contributions may be made to Smilow Cancer Center of Trumbull.
