Three Westport creators invite workout enthusiasts to a Sunday morning of fitness on a grand scale at the Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater in Bridgeport on Sept. 7 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Fitness leaders Cori Adams and Sarah Sadie Newett are joining promoter Peter Van Heerden for RISE + STEP: The Amphitheatre Edition. By holding the session in the regional venue better known for concerts featuring acts such as Flo Rida and Melissa Etheridge with the Indigo Girls, the team seeks to unite several hundred exercise lovers in “a next-level wellness experience blending performance, movement, and community connection in an unforgettable setting,” according to their announcement.

“This isn’t your average fitness class,” Van Heerden said. “It’s a celebration of empowerment, joy and unity— elevated by music, movement and the magic of place.”

The promoter is dedicated to such events, which are aimed at “transforming spaces into cultural hubs and curating immersive, large-scale experiences,” the announcement says.

Adams, a choreographer, founded The Gold Step. The announcement describes her as a “movement leader known for blending dance, cardio, and community into high-intensity, high-joy experiences.

Newett is a professional dancer, aerialist and founder of SSN, a fitness method “that anchors your movement practice using ordinary Pilates and yoga-based movement in extraordinary ways,” her website says.

Here’s the event schedule:

9 a.m.: SSN Length and Strength with Sarah Sadie Newett. “A 30-minute flow blending elegance, strength, and transformation. Sarah’s method dissolves tension, builds long, lean power, and prepares body and mind for the high-energy session to follow.”

9:30 a.m.: The Gold Step with Cori Adams. “An hour of sweat-fueled choreography, beats, and contagious energy. Powered by expertly curated playlists that keep energy high and motivation strong. This isn’t your typical workout, expect fresh, dynamic sounds that elevate every move. Part cardio party, Part community celebration, and 100 percent unforgettable.”

A portion of all ticket sales – 10 percent – will go to benefit Homes for the Brave, a Bridgeport-based nonprofit organization that supports veterans with housing, vocational training and essential services. Event sponsors are MD Solar Sciences, Granola Bar, and Hemma Kitchen.

“We’re stepping into power and purpose—together,” Adams said. “Every beat, every rep, every drop of sweat is for ourselves, our community and our vets.”
