WESTPORT — The Representative Town Meeting on Tuesday approved funding to replace a broken irrigation system at Coleytown Middle School and for an analysis of repairs needed at the Ned Dimes Marina.

The appropriation for the marina study is $80,000, and it will identify what needs to be replaced and covers bid preparation and permitting paperwork. Parks and Recreation Director Jennifer Fava has said future work could include $100,000 for a new fuel dock, $170,000 to replace the two piers and $300,000 for electrical work.

The irrigation appropriation, to replace a decades-old system that no longer operates, is $104,000.

Both votes were unanimous.

On Feb. 26, the Finance Committee unanimously voted to recommend the full RTM pass the Coleytown appropriation. The Parks and Recreation and Public Works committees had purview over both appropriations and unanimously recommended both.

The expenditures were approved by the Board of Finance on Feb. 7.

The RTM is the town’s final funding body.
