WESTPORT — “Affordable housing” will be the topic of an online discussion by Westport and Wilton officials this week.
The panel discussion will take place at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28, via Zoom. To register, click here.
Panelists will include: Danielle Dobin, chairwoman of the Westport Planning and Zoning Commission; Rick Tomasetti, chairman of the Wilton Planning and Zoning Commission; state Rep. Stephanie Thomas, D-143, and state Sen. Will Haskell, D-26.
Among the issues to be discussed, according to Dobin is “what to expect from the state legislature in the upcoming session and how the towns of Westport and Wilton are engaging in a process to thoughtfully create a diversity of housing in our towns.”
Dobin also said she is pleased that a share of Westport’s allocation of $8.4 million in federal COVID-19 relief money — under the American Rescue Plan Act — will likely be spent on local affordable housing initiatives. The Boards of Selectmen and Finance have yet to complete their review of final plans on how that money will be distributed.
