WESTPORT — A vacancy in District 3 of the Representative Town Meeting has been created by the recent death of Arline Gertzoff.

The vacant RTM seat is open to any registered voter in District 3, regardless of political affiliation, since the legislative body is non-partisan. The unexpired term ends after the next municipal election in November 2023.

Voters interested in being considered for appointment to the seat should send resumes by Oct. 14 to Town Clerk Jeffrey Dunkerton by emailing JDunkerton@westportct.gov.

Applicants then will be interviewed by the three remaining District 3 members, after which they will vote to appoint a replacement.
