WESTPORT–Today’s heavy rains have caused an unusual amount of flooding in downtown Westport.

Violet Lane resident Morley Boyd said this is the “worst flooding I have seen. We’re running all seven of our pumps. Several blown circuits–we’re seeing large outdoor furniture going by.”

Boyd’s wife, Pamela Wriedt-Boyd, has been on Violet Lane for 58 years. She said “this is the worst flood I’ve seen here.”

Church Lane’s Sal Liccione said he’s “never seen anything like it.”
