WESTPORT — Seven students at Staples High School have been selected as “Students of the Month” for December.

They are: freshmen Westley Dick and Isabel Brookbanks, sophomore Samantha Sheldon, juniors Franca Strandell and John Whittle, and seniors Molly Liles and John Kuster.

The “Students of the Month,” nominated by their teachers, are selected because they help make Staples High “a welcoming place for their peers and teachers alike,” according to the announcement from Principal Stafford Thomas. 

“They are the ‘glue’ of the Staples community: the type of kind, cheerful, hard-working, trustworthy students that keep the high school together, making it the special place that it is,”  the announcement states.
