WESTPORT — A summertime barbecue will be hosted July 22 at the Joseph J. Clinton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 399.

The community event, featuring a selection of BBQ entrees and side dishes, will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 22, at the post, 465 Riverside Ave.

Funds raised will support the Westport VFW, according to organizers.

Food tickets, which will be sold at the event, include: $12 for a chicken plate, $13 for pulled pork and $15 for brisket, all with sides of corn, chili and coleslaw.

Also available will be shrimp mac-and-cheese for $10 and a bowl of chili for $5.

No charge for children 4 years old and younger. 

For adults, pints of Spacecat beer, on tap and in cans, will be sold for $7.
