WESTPORT — The Westport Library, which planned a delayed opening at 2 p.m. Thursday because of the snow and icy rain storm, will remain closed for the rest of the day, officials said in an updated announcement.

The decision to remain closed is based on the forecast of additional wintry precipitation and potentially hazardous travel conditions later this afternoon and evening.

A program planned Thursday evening — “Harriet Tubman: Military Scout and Tenacious Visionary” — featuring writer Jean Marie Wiesen and Tubman descendant, Rita Daniels, will now take place virtually at 7 p.m. via Zoom. Click here for the link.
