
WESTPORT–Fire Chief and Emergency Management Director Nicholas L. Marsan has activated the town’s Severe Cold Weather Protocol. From 5 p.m. today through noon tomorrow, Dec. 16, heat-insecure Westporters can visit the warming centers listed below.
According to a press release, this activation aligns with statewide guidance intended to protect vulnerable residents during extreme temperature events. The release continues, quoting Fire Chief Nicholas L. Marsan:
“With this incoming blast of arctic air and dangerously low wind chills, our priority is the health and safety of all Westport residents. We urge everyone to use the warming centers provided, check on elderly or vulnerable neighbors, and take every precaution to stay warm and safe. If you need assistance, please reach out — we are here to help.”

Westport Library

Friday: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Westport/Weston Family YMCA

Monday–Friday: 5:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Saturday–Sunday: 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
