
WESTPORT–Traffic in downtown Westport will be trickier than usual this weekend, due to three annual events, according to the Westport Police Department.
Sidewalk Sale–today, tomorrow, Sunday
Westport’s sidewalk sale started this morning and runs through Sunday. Downtown merchants and other vendors will take over the sidewalks .
Great Duck Race–tonight through tomorrow afternoon
The Sunrise Rotary’s Great Duck Race takes place tomorrow from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Jesup Green. But, staging for the event will force the closure of the Taylor parking lot from this evening through tomorrow afternoon.
Cars that are still parked in the Taylor lot this evening will be subject to a ticket and/or a tow.
jUNe Day–tomorrow
The United Nations jUNe Day event will draw hundreds of visitors to Jesup Green tomorrow morning and to various sites around town all day long. Drivers are urged to exercise extreme caution tomorrow, as many of the visitors are unfamiliar with local streets and sidewalks.
As in years past, flags representing the members of the United Nations will be displayed on the Ruth Ruth Steinkraus Cohen Memorial Bridge.
