More than 50 literary categories are featured at the Westport Library’s fall book sale, which got underway Friday and continues through Monday.

WESTPORT — The latest chapter of the Westport Library’s semi-annual book sales opened Friday, as crowds hit the books — with thousands on offer in dozens of literary categories.

The event continues Saturday through Monday, featuring hardcovers and paperbacks designed to appeal to readers of all ages with a wide range interests, as well as vinyl records, CDs and DVDs, puzzles and artwork.

The remaining schedule for the sale is:

Saturday, Dec. 2, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Sunday, Dec. 3, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. — most merchandise sold at half price.

Monday, Dec. 4, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. — Westport Library logo bags of books at $10 or shoppers’ own equivalent bags for $8. Remaining inventory also can be purchased at half price.

A Friday “early-bird” shopper at the Westport Library gets help with his literary treasures from Jocelyn Barandiaran, president of Westport Book Sale Ventures, and Jean Stevens, one of many volunteers helping with the four-day event.

For those unable to shop during sales hours, visit the Westport Book Sales’ “Online Book Shop” at any time, or the Westport Book Shop, 23 Jesup Road, during its regular business hours.
