WESTPORT — The town’s annual service paying tribute to those who served in the nation’s armed forces will take place Nov. 11 at the Joseph J. Clinton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 399 on Riverside Avenue.
Veterans Day ceremonies get underway at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, in the main parking lot of the post, 465 Riverside Ave., with patriotic music performed by the Westport Community Band, according to an announcement from Phil Delgado, of VFW Post 399.
The formal tribute is set for 11 a.m., with a proclamation and remarks by First Selectman Jim Marpe. Members of VFW Post 399 will present a memorial wreath, and Taps will be played by Westport Community Band trumpeters.
